Holcim's GO CIRCULAR Sailing Team: Racing for Ocean Health and Circular Living

Welcome to our team, making a difference for our oceans and our planet

We at Holcim are proud to play a part in GO CIRCULAR, which is taking part in some of the most prestigious boating races around the world. However whilst our team’s 60 foot monohull IMOCA sailing boat is an elite performance racing vessel, it is also a state of the art measuring hub, collecting vital scientific data to help leading scientists better preserve and understand current ocean health.

This year, GO CIRCULAR is taking part in The Ocean Race Europe and during the race will be making a very special stop in Portsmouth, in an area we are proud to serve with many of our own sites and locations.

ADVOCATING CIRCULAR LIVING

During each of its races, our GO CIRCULAR team advocates for climate action and raises awareness for more circular living.

At Holcim, circularity is at the core of everything we do, as part of our net-zero journey. We are driving industry wide change by producing and recycling materials with products such as ECOPact cements and recycled aggregates, as well as reducing our overall carbon footprint with projects like Peak Cluster.

In fact we have a clearly defined roadmap to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Find out more about how we plan to achieve this at the button below.

Our net-zero plan

GO CIRCULAR IS COMING TO PORTSMOUTH

As part of The Ocean Race Europe, the sailing boat and crew will be moored in Portsmouth and we can’t wait to welcome them to the UK.

The full race’s arrival will be met with a weekend of celebration between 14 - 17 August when there will be a spectacular fan day and some of our special guests will be able to meet a member of the crew and even get onto the boat itself.

To follow the latest progress in the race and to find out more about our scientific research efforts, visit the dedicated team website below.

We will become a net zero company by 2050.

We have a clearly defined roadmap to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 that details how each part of our business will achieve this, aligned to Holcim’s global, science-based targets.

Holcim is committed to decarbonising building for a net-zero future.

Cement remains a hugely essential material to the way we build and construct so we must aim to decarbonise not deindustrialise.

Holcim has welcomed the National Wealth Fund’s investment in the Peak Cluster partnership which aims to decarbonise the cement and lime industry as part of the journey to net zero.
