The newly opened sites — Holme Park (Cumbria), Croft (Leicestershire), Kidderminster (Worcestershire) complement the existing locations in Wrexham (North Wales) and Ellesmere (Cheshire) — and have been transformed from former concrete plants. The investment supports growing demand for consistent, high-performance mortar across new-build housing, residential extensions, education, healthcare and public-sector projects.

At Holme Park, which serves Cumbria, Lancashire, the North West and southern Scotland, Holcim has installed an automated dosing system for admixtures and pigments. This technology improves quality control, reduces the risk of manual error and ensures consistent mortar — a key requirement for bricklayers working to tight programmes and high quality standards.

Holme Park works alongside Kidderminster, strengthening coverage across the Midlands, Bristol, South Wales and Central England. Together, the two sites expand Holcim’s dry silo mortar network for national housebuilders, SME contractors and merchants who rely on dependable supply.

Holcim has also expanded its ready-to-use mortar capability with a new facility at Croft (Leicestershire), supplying projects across the East and West Midlands. The new site increases delivery resilience for one of the UK’s busiest construction regions.

Croft joins Holcim’s existing ready-to-use plants at Wrexham and Ellesmere, which support the North West, North Wales and Midlands. Together, these sites broaden Holcim’s footprint for fresh, reliable mortar on demand.

Holcim’s mortar offering is supported by digital ordering systems and smart silo technology, which provide real-time visibility of silo levels. This helps bricklaying teams and site managers avoid downtime and plan ahead more effectively.

David Porter, director of mortar at Holcim UK, said: “Mortar is time-critical, so quality and reliability directly affect productivity on site. With Holme Park, Croft, Kidderminster, Wrexham and Ellesmere now serving key regions, we can offer more customers consistent mortar supply backed by strong local availability and fast response times.”

He added: “Our digital ordering and smart silo systems give customers the visibility and confidence they need to keep projects moving. It’s about delivering dependable products, supported by practical tools that make day-to-day operations easier.”
