Holcim UK’s lightweight block solution, Masterlite® Ultra, has been renamed to Masterlite Ultra18, a move which spotlights the building solutions provider’s continued focus in meeting the sustainability needs of the construction industry.

With the imminent arrival of the Future Homes Standard, Masterlite Ultra18 was constructed to support the new U-value requirements. 

Its design reinforces Holcim’s commitment to sustainable construction and benefiting both housebuilders and homeowners by creating more energy-efficient buildings and subsequently reducing heating costs. The lightweight aggregate building block maintains its core strengths of durability and load-bearing performance for single dwellings and extensions, while including these advanced thermal properties.

To meet the demand for high-performance blocks with easier manual handling, the Masterlite Ultra18 was also developed for a one-handed lift, enhancing the on-site experience compared to traditional blocks. It reduces strain from manual handling, which aids in quicker installation, boosts site efficiency, and shortens project completion times.

The use of aggregates means the block is less susceptible to damage, minimising product waste and surplus.
