WExHAM PARK HOSPITAL - CAR PARK CONSTRUCTION
Appointed by the NHS Trust in Slough to complete a car park construction project at Wexham Park Hospital.
Appointed by the NHS Trust in Slough to undertake a significant car park construction project at Wexham Park Hospital. The project involved the transformation of over 10,000m² of soft landscaping into a fully functional car park, complete with a new roadway, parking areas, footpaths and a sustainable drainage system.
Project Scope
We successfully delivered:
- 198 additional visitor parking spaces.
- 200 additional staff parking spaces.
- A comprehensive drainage system incorporating swales at the end of each parking bay.
- A new asphalt roadway spanning approximately 3,250m².
- 6,675m² of plastic porous pavers filled with gravel for sustainable parking solutions.
- 730m² of pedestrian walkways, complete with pre-cast concrete kerbing.
- Post lighting for the car park and access roads, along with bollard lighting for pedestrian walkways.
Project Execution
Previously an area of soft landscaping, the new car park was strategically located opposite the existing hospital. To prepare the site, excavation and full reconstruction of surfacing layers were required, including sub-base compaction and the laying of base, binder and surface courses.
Throughout the project we worked closely with the NHS Trust and Slough Borough Council’s planning committee to ensure compliance with all regulatory conditions and to facilitate smooth approval processes.
The project was delivered on schedule, with no outstanding snags, and was handed over to a highly satisfied client. Our expertise in car park construction, combined with a commitment to quality and precision, ensured a seamless execution that met the needs of both hospital staff and visitors.
